Creamy Pasta with Peas and Ham

Does your family argue over what to serve for Christmas dinner?

Mine has the great "should we have turkey or ham?" debate every year it seems. This year both sides won because there were enough of us to justify cooking and eating both. Just don't get us started on what kind of desserts we should serve.

If you're in a ham-serving family, this is one recipe you'll want to keep handy because it is a fast, easy way to make use of leftover ham. It is a simple pasta dish with the delicious combination of ham and peas covered with a very easy sauce. It's creamy and rich and tastes great. No, it's not low on calories, so you probably want to eat it before your New Year's resolutions kick in, but it is quick and universally appealing.

For those keeping score, mark down one more point for ham.

yum yum! We don't ever have ham for holiday dinner, but I'd definitely buy some just to make this :) Hope you enjoyed your first holiday as a family of three!!!

Sounds delicious. I'd have to figure out a way to lighten up the sauce...but so simply delicious!

I'm sure you could lighten it up a little to make it New Years friendly :P But this looks pretty good--and that's coming from a non-ham-eater!

We switch off hosting duties on Christmas and it's a small group, so we usually don't have ham or turkey. Though if we did, I'd vote for turkey every time :) This is definitely a great idea for leftover ham, it looks so creamy!!

Hope you had a wonderful holiday :)

This was exactly the recipe idea I was looking for today. I changed it up for the ingredients I had on hand. I used broccoli instead of peas, added some minced garlic, and used milk and cream cheese in the sauce instead of heavy cream. Perfect use for the ham I had. My 4 yr old and I really enjoyed our lunch.

We're a turkey-for-Christmas (and Thanksgiving), ham-for-Easter family. :) Which means I'm looking for leftover ham recipes. This looks simple, clean and so delicious.
